Current Studies and Clinical Trials

1. A split-face comparative trial of micro needling with fractional radio-frequency vs micro needling alone for treatment of acne scars of the face

  • UnionDerm is conducting a research study to compare the effectiveness of an FDA-approved micro needling pen versus an FDA-approved micro needling with a radio-frequency device for moderate to severe facial acne scarring.  You may qualify if you:  Have moderate to severe facial acne scarring, Have a darker skin tone, Are 18 years of age or older, Can commit to 5-6 visits over a period of 6-7 months. This study will begin in September 2020.

2. A muscle toning trial with an electrical stimulation device

  • UnionDerm is conducting a research study to analyze the results of muscle toning with an electrical stimulation device. You may qualify if you are: Healthy male or female between the ages of 18-65 and can commit to 4 visits over the period of 2 weeks. This study will begin late October 2021.

3. A fractional laser for photo rejuvenation of the neck and chest.

  • UnionDerm is conducting a research study to evaluate the effects of a fractional laser for photo rejuvenation of the neck and chest. You may qualify if you are: Female under the age of 50 with mild to moderate photo aging (fine lines + wrinkles, and sun spots) on the neck and chest. Must be able to commit to 4 treatments at 4-6 week intervals. This study will begin Winter 2021.

4. A comparative trial to determine the safety and efficacy of high frequency energy in the lateral/posterior upper thigh/buttock region for improvement of cellulite appearance. 

  • UnionDerm is conducting a research study to determine the safety and efficacy of high frequency energy in the lateral/posterior upper thigh/buttock region for improvement of cellulite appearance. You may qualify if you are: Female under the age of 60 with mild to moderate cellulite and must be able to commit to 2 treatments 4-6 weeks apart. This study will begin Winter 2022.

 

PARTICIPATING IN FUTURE STUDIES

Study participants receive study-related exams, lab tests, and the investigational study medication or treatment at no charge. Additionally, participants are typically compensated for their time by the study sponsor.
